Chief Digital Officer, McDonald's
Atif Rafiq is taking McDonald’s digital presence to the next level, offering new ways for customers to personalize and customize their McDonald’s experience and engagement. He is focused on bringing more convenience and fun so customers can enjoy McDonald’s wherever, whenever and however they want. He is responsible for the global transformation of McDonald’s into a digital business.
Prior to joining McDonald’s in 2014, Rafiq held management roles at several public internet and software companies. Most recently, he served as the General Manager within the Kindle division at Amazon, where he had global responsibility for product management, program management, marketing, and business metrics. Before Amazon, Rafiq led global product marketing/strategy for Yahoo! News and was General Manager for Yahoo! Local.
Rafiq has founded or advised more than ten start-up companies, including Covigna, one of the first content management software companies which he founded and ran as CEO for 4 years. He began his career on the web in 1996 as a founding member of the business development and corporate strategy team at AOL, launching some of the first e-commerce, content and communications products to reach millions of global customers. He started his career at Goldman Sachs as a financial analyst.
Rafiq holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics-Economics from Wesleyan University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.
